Yuji "Saku" Sakurai from the anime/manga series BECK:Mongolian Chop Squad.

Third of my series.

As the drummer of BECK, and only 15 yrs old (16 at the end of the series), Saku is awesome. He's very mature, has a great outlook on life - "There are two types of people in the world. Those who think you have to keep your head down, obey the rules. And those who walk their own path in life. You have to question what sort of person you are" - he's instrumental in Koyuki's coming of age. Saku can be hilarious, and also very down to earth, and I love him.

Title is another "Dying Breed" song, the song Koyuki plays over the school PA system and thereby gaining Saku's attention and friendship (also the song Koyuki chooses to play solo at the Greatful Sound gig, in the English dub). The lyrics really sum up Saku's attitude.

Man, Saku's hair was hard...what exactly *is* Saku's hair like? in the anime it's sort of fuzzy lookin' and flat to his head, with these crazy sideburns, lol. So yeah, I improvised slightly. And his eyes...Saku has "smiling" eyes, throughout the entirety of the anime, again, I guess, expressing something about his attitude. But very hard to get looking right in an anime-realism pic...he looks as though he just blinked at the wrong time here, lol.
